bye-bye morning shade

About 1:00am last night we had another storm move through. The wind was unlike anything I have ever heard-that is saying a lot growing up in Oklahoma. Our wonderful tree in the backyard was snapped in half and our roof was torn up in places. We had water leaking through the ceiling, we caught what we could with large boiling pots. The power was off like most of Edmond but that thankfully it was restored by about 6:45am or so. I guess if this had to happen I'm glad Donnie was in town.

Not what you want to see out the kitchen window

This time of year wildfires are not uncommon in Oklahoma. This came pretty close to the house, within 1 mile. Luckily, we had some rain come in that night, not too long after it started burning. The rain really was a miracle. We do not get much, if any, this time of year. Although it did not completely extinguish the fire, it did help get it under better control. We were told at one point by an employee of the golf course that the fire was being blow towards the addition because of the shifting winds of the thunderstorm. We did get some ash in our backyard but thankfully none of it was hot.
